The Aegon Team Tennis Schools Year 8 & 10 Regional Finals take place this week with the final 64 schools tennis teams from across England, Scotland and Wales in action.
The Year 8 & 10 competition is the largest competition in the Aegon Team Tennis Schools series. The 2013 competition saw a 9 year record entry of 2,476 teams taking part in the competition. The majority of teams compete at division 2 level within their local league. However, stronger players and teams compete at Division 1 level where the winner from each league competes in regional knockout rounds during September/October with a chance of reaching the Regional & National Finals.
The Year 8 & 10 knockout rounds have recently been concluded and 64 teams have qualified for the Year 8 & 10 Regional Finals which will take place on Thursday 14 November (Boys) and Friday 15 November (Girls). All teams will play two matches on the day and will be placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th in their region. 1st placed teams will qualify for the National Finals later this month.
After winning two rounds of the Aegon Team Tennis Schools Year 8 & 10 Knockout Stage 2013 (http://lta.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/drawsheet.aspx?id=2A0247DA-3A6A-48E9-807D-BD950367FE89&draw=4) Highdown School went on to represent Berkshire in the Aegon Team Tennis Schools Year 8 & 10 Regional Finals (South West) 2013 were they finished an impressive 4th, playing some very good teams.
