The Berkshire Inspiration and Participation Awards are back for another spectacular year for sport in the county.
This years awards will take place on Friday 7th February 2014 at the Blue Mountain Golf Club, Binfield. This years awards pro...mises to be bigger than last year.
The categories this year are:
Club of the year
The club of the year will have either served their community above and beyond expectations or provided support to successful Olympians and elite athletes. This award acknowledges the work of a team of people who have developed a club into more than just a facility for sport and physical activity.
Coach of the Year
Coach of the year will be an inspirational individual who has had a huge impact on their sport at an elite level or through their hard work in developing athletes at the grass-roots levels of their sport, contributing to success and lifelong sporting activity.
Volunteer of the year
Exceptional volunteers work in all areas of sport and this award recognises the immense achievements of such individuals. Sport owes a debt of gratitude to people who give up their time to help others enjoy and succeed in sport. Nominate your local unsung hero who gives their passion and energy selflessly to make sport happen.
Team of the year
This team will certainly be high performing and will have stopped at nothing to achieve their ambitions, shown a hunger for improvement and have made significant achievements in the last year. This award is for competitive sports or club teams or could be for sports development, sports or health administration/management teams delivering in the sport and physical activity sector
Youth Sport Award
This award will recognise the contribution of a young person (under the age of 18), team, project or organisation that has benefitted youth sport.
This could be a young person who has gone above and beyond their role as a player, volunteer or coach to help others or made a contribution to getting other children and young people participating in school, clubs sports or physical activity.
The award could also be for work that organisations in the education/youth sector have carried out to provide significant, high quality benefits to young people through sport and physical activity.
Project of the Year
Whether it is a project in the health or sport sector – this award will go to an outstanding project that has achieved increased participation, involving minority groups or qualifying coaches. The winning project from 2013 will have exceeded targets or been innovative in inspiring people to get more involved in sport, physical activity or healthy lifestyles.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Nominate somebody who has made a huge contribution to sport over their lifetime whether it is for personal achievement or through helping others.
Junior Sports Personality of the Year
The junior (male or female) sports personality of the year award offers a reward for exceptional young people that overcome adversity, inspire others or perform to the highest levels. Nominations can be accepted for anybody under the age of 18.
Sports Personality of the Year
Who inspired you in 2013 in sport in Berkshire? A local person who made a huge difference either at elite or community level? We are looking for truly inspirational people to be nominated in this category and the winner will be easily identified as an outstanding, sporting individual.
