Gregor Webster and Francesca Davis have been awarded the prestigious 2015 Manning Davenport award.
Each year one junior boy and girl in Berkshire are chosen to receive the award based on their talent, tournament results and commitment to Berkshire tennis.
Gregor has had a great year, finishing 2nd in Great Britain in the 10 & Under age group and winning the Grade 1 10 & Under National Championships at the National Tennis Centre in March. He then started his ‘yellow ball’ journey in April, and has made a great start, reaching the finals in several regional tournaments as well as qualifying for the first winter season 12 & U national event scheduled for the end of this month.
He has been invited to attend an LTA residential national training camp in London in November.
Gregor has also shown great commitment to Berkshire tennis in 2015. He won the 12&U county closed event and represented Berkshire in the 12&U Aegon County Cup, as well as the Lionel Cox tournament.
Francesca has also had an impressive year.
She finished 4th on the 10&U national summer leaderboard and was a finalist in the Singles and doubles at the Grade 2 event in Bath.
She was the Berkshire number 1 in the 10&U team that qualified for and finished 5th at the National Finals of the Aegon County Cup, where she won 2 out of her 4 singles and doubles matches. This was only the second time a Berkshire team has qualified for the National Finals.
Francesca, at the age of 10, also successfully represented Berkshire in the 12&U Lionel Cox event and was a semi finalist in the 12&U County Closed.
Well done both of you and good luck for the Winter Season
