Chole Lant and David Jones were awarded the Manning Davenport Scholarship for 2009 in recognition of their performances and dedication for the previous 12 months. The prize is awarded to a Junior player from within Berkshire annually and includes a contribution to help their Tennis development in the future.
The Manning Davenport Scholarship has been awarded since 1987 and has seen many worthy winners helped onto further success. Amongst past recipients were Richard Holden, Heather Matthews, Neil Pauffley and Marcus Willis all of whom have gone on to some great achievements, including National Finals, National Titles and representing Great Britain.
The award was presented by Berkshire LTA Lead Volunteer, Valerie Holden who said "Hopefully Chloe and David can take inspiration from some of the previous winners of this fantastic award and continue to work hard and enjoy further success within the game."
