After a full Summer season of Competition across the County the winners of the Berkshire Mini Tennis Tour were decided last weekend during a full day of exciting matches at Bucks ITC. The players had qualified for the event by finishing in the Top 8 of the MT Tour Leaderboard which rewarded performances at Tournaments held by Clubs throughout the Summer.
The 8&U Event was claimed by Angus Whittam, who defeated Sam Christie 10-7 in a close and exciting Final. Meanwhile the Girls Event of the same Age Group was played in a Round Robin format with Ella Drake leading the way with a 100% record and Sasha Southgate finishing as Runner-up.
The 9&U category was equally enthralling with Ethan Chow taking the Boys title with a 7-5, 7-1 win over Sebastian Tong in the Final. Once again, the Girls Event was played as a Round Robin with the winner, Janneta Kisel, proving unbeatable and Codi-Lilli Brooks taking second place.
The final age group to be played on the day was the 10&U with Edward Green beating Sherif Hassan, 4-0 in the Boys Final and Olivia Barnard defeating Jade Collins, 4-1, 4-2 to win the Girls Event.
John Golding, Tennis Devlopment Manager, concluded "It was fantastic to see so many great matches played on the day and whilst congratulations should go to the winners all the players today can be proud of themselves as they have all done really well to qualify after all the Summer Events played throughout Berkshire. The Finals themselves went very well and great credit should go to Liz Fidler for refereeing the day. I'm now looking forward to seeing more competiiton in as many venues as possible during the upcoming Winter Season."
