Both Cheshire teams enjoyed the Aegon U12 Aegon County Cup Qualifiers with the girls in Birchwood and the boys in Sheffield.
Despite being up against some tough competition the girls put in a good performance to finish third. Lucy Fletcher, Team Captain, said “the team spirit and behaviour throughout the weekend was excellent. The team was a pleasure to captain and there was some great support from the players and parents throughout the weekend.” Well done to the team that team comprised Gabriella Komsiiski, Ella Walker, Olivia Anderson, Alice Shields, Jamie McCracken.
Good luck in the finals to the Lancashire girls who topped the group.
The boys showed a magnificent determination in their matches and finished top of the group to qualify for the Finals in Bolton. Team Captain Simon Thornewill commented that the boys played amazing tennis over the weekend and added “I’m really proud of the boys, especially the way they bounced back in the final match to beat Yorkshire. I thought we played the best tennis over the 2 days and deserved to win the group.” The team comprised Matthew Cooper, Danny Urey, Sam Reeve and Finley Michaelis.
