On the day that Rafa won his 10th French Open title, Bramhall Lane ladies won the Cheshire Shield for the 10th successive year. Hosted at the club and entered by 10 teams from across the county, the team of Sarah Craig, Katie Sidell, Tara Thompson and Sarah Richards fought through a round robin group and a knock out to claim the title, beating Nantwich in a tense final. Congratulations to all the players. The presentation was made by a past president of both Bramhall Lane and Cheshire County LTA, Jean Siney.
A huge thank you to John and Marion Doe for refereeing the tournament extremely efficiently and in a friendly manner, which was appreciated by all the players who competed without a cross word! Many compliments were received on the organisation, the format and the food, especially the cakes!
