Monday, March 26, 2012

Penzance Tennis club have a very strong relationship with the schools in the local area.  They are currently linked to over 10 schools and see over 300 children on a weekly basis through after school clubs . Martin Coates Tennis Manager at the club has a aim to give all the school children in the local area a positive taste of tennis by arranging Fun days at each school inviting all the children from each year group to come  down to the club and have some free coaching with his Professional Coaching team.

The first school to benefit from this fantastic experience was GEMS Bolitho School in Penzance. One of the oldest independent day and boarding schools in Cornwall set in several acres of tranquil grounds in the safe and attractive coastal town of Penzance. It is currently one of the most inspiring Private schools in Cornwall and has been very fortunate to benefit recently from a new Headmaster who is very pro-active towards encouraging sport at the school.

Over 100 children from different year groups were involved on the day taking part in fun activities at the club and also as part of the day all the children get offered free vouchers to take part in further sessions at the club trying to encourage the children to stay fit and healthy through tennis.

The day was huge success and special thanks to Gary Randall who helped organize the day with Martin all the teachers and helpers at Bolitho school and the coaching team at Penzance Tennis Club.
