Fun and games at Heron TC

On Sunday the main business at Heron was the Fly-be sponsored Matchplay Competition for 8 and unders. There was a super entry of 15 players from all over Devon and Cornwall and the players all enjoyed 2 hours of playing matches against each other.

It was especially nice to see 6 girls taking part in the competition and whilst the standard of play was very high, event organiser, Paul Roberts, was also extremely pleased with the great spirit and behaviour shown by every single player.

Youngsters playing tennis aged 8 and under use special soft/foam balls and reduced court sizes to help make playing the game much easier and more fun and it’s really great to see these very young players managing to play a proper scaled-down version of the full game.
