Menheniots Road to Wimbledon stars

Menheniot village tennis club staged their under 14 LTA tournament last week and Lawrence Markey was the eventual winner. The Tournament is named the "Road to Wimbledon" and the winner is invited to take part in the  county finals at the Heron Centre in Newquay on June 16th. If successful Lawrence will then play in the National finals at Wimbledon later in the year.

Lawrence is second from the left in the pic and can be seen holding his trophy. Head Coach Stewart Lees, on the right, was most impressed with the quality and standard of the players, especially as this was the first time that the club had taken part in the competition.
