Penzance Tennis Club has recently received £9,000 to help support the sport of tennis in the community. A successful application to Sport England saw the club receive funding for more fun days, holiday activities and competitions as well as junior and adult coaching. The club has also been fortunate enough to obtain a further £3,000 from the Cornwall Sports Partnership to help with a new schools programme with Cape Cornwall School.
Penzance’s Tennis Manager Martin Coates said: “We have all worked very hard to get this grant and we are delighted that our applications have been successful. The monies will help a tremendous amount in improving the tennis experience in our community and will also help attract new faces to tennis and the club. Exciting times lie ahead.”
