National Recognition for Cornwall Juniors

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Two of Cornwall’s Young Competition Organisers were invited to the National Tennis Centre this month.

Sam Moses (Heron Tennis Centre) and Ryan Jennings (Dragon Tennis Centre) had both been selected by the LTA to join some of the most proactive and hard-working young competition organisers from around the Country for a weekend of team-building, up-skilling and career planning as a reward for all their hard work in developing competitive opportunities at their respective Places to Play. The action packed event took place at the National Tennis Centre, home of British Tennis, in Roehampton London.

Georgie Loosemore, Tennis Development Manager for Cornwall said “ as a County we are very proud that 2 of our Young Competition Organisers were given this opportunity and that the boy's hard work had been recognised and rewarded, well done and good luck for the future."

In total, 19 young competition organisers attended the weekend, and both Sam and Ryan will now look to utilise all that they learnt throughout the weekend back here in Cornwall.

If you’re aged 16-25 and would like to support your local place to play in running competitions then email Ann.Williams@LTA.org.uk to find out about our free Young Competition organiser courses.
