Tarka Tennis Centre, Barnstaple, played host to the Winter Aegon County Cup 2013.
The Cornwall Ladies team was made up of Athena Chrysanthou, Alisa Cole, Claire Tresidder, India Rojano, Emily Wicks, Sarah Arnold and the yougest and newest member of the team Nadia Rawson.
The first day saw the Cornish girls take on Lincolnshire, a positive start with Cornwall winning 5-4. This was a great 1st day to build on and were all very confident and positive when we took on the might of the Dorset ladies on the second day. Unfortunately lady luck favoured Dorset and we narowly lost 4-5.
The last day of the weekend saw neighbouring counties Devon and Cornwall play, with some great competative tennis being played in both the singles and doubles. Devon proved too strong on this occasion and were the victors 6-3.
A fantastic weekend was had by all and with new team players and a great team spirit, the Cornwall Ladies are determined to come back fighting and improve on their performances for the Aegon Summer County Cup.
