Devon LTA & Cornwall LTA are delighted to secure Flybe as sponsor for the Devon and Cornwall Mini Tennis Circuits and Leaderboards which will take place in participating clubs across the 2 Counties through the winter 09/10 season.
Points will be awarded to players for matches won and matches played with results from a players top 6 tournaments counting towards their final total. Young players, (U8 Mini Red U9 Mini Orange and U10 Mini Green) will be able to track their progress online over a circuit of 111 local competitions and feel like they are involved in something similar to the professional ATP/WTA tours.
The top 8 players from each age group in each County will come together in April 2010 to compete in an exciting master’s final in Devon. There are some fantastic prizes for the ultimate winners provided courtesy of Flybe.
The involvement of a local sponsor has many benefits to tennis across Devon & Cornwall. Primarily it will enable us to raise the profile of the Mini Tennis Circuit Competition which will encourage more children to enter in their local clubs and compete. The media coverage will also draw attention to some of the excellent facilities and coaches we have within the counties which could attract new players to the sport for the first time or retain our already keen tennis playing population.
