Junior and Senior Teams representing Cumbria enter the annual Aegon County Cup.  Please see information below about selection criteria and team captains.

Selection Criteria

Team captains are to make squad and team selection, using their professional judgement, based on the following criteria: 

1. The player is qualified to represent Cumbria – as set out in the Lawn Tennis Association Limited Document - The Rules, Effective 1 January 2015, section 36.2
2. National ranking (not applicable for mini tennis ie U9 & U10 players)
3. National rating
4. National Leader board position for the age groups where these are used.
5. Performance over the Winter Season in Grade 3 and 4 Events and in county cup training
6. Attendance at county cup training camps as a necessity except by prior agreement with the captain
7. An expectation that members of county cup training squads will play in the County Championships
8. A player in a younger age group competing at national level will be considered for an older age group county cup team and can be selected above an older player with a higher rating

1.    9.. The County Performance Working Group plus one County Elected Officer must approve final team selections. This Group will also be consulted about selection when there is doubt or if a captain wishes to select a player for the team, that would not be selected based on this criteria, then a recommendation can be put forwards to the Group for consideration.

Team captains should ensure that all players worthy of consideration for selection, and their parents, are made aware of the criteria for selection

Team captains should take all necessary measures and precautions to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all players.
