The second Devon Mini Tennis Festival was held at Exmouth Tennis Centre on Sunday 21st January and aimed at Orange ball players. Coaches from local clubs and centres were asked to nominate their best players in this category which resulted in 16 fantastic players having a wonderful time on court being challenged by the coaches. The session led by County Coaches Ollie Sharpe (Exmouth) and Tracy Brown (Torquay) and assisted by club coaches Robert Elver (Dawlish), James Temple (Exeter Golf and Country Club) and helped by Tom Kinch (Exmouth) delivered a session that was great fun, intense and an opportunity to see what players from this area could do on the court.
Will McNally, Devon Junior Performance Co-ordinator, was thrilled by the enthusiasm and energy of the players. “They all worked so hard and with a real zest. It was wonderful to see each one showing such passion and eagerness to do each exercise to their absolute best. We are now looking forward to the next Festival on Sunday 4th February at The Nuffield Health Devonshire Club in Plymouth to see if they can match these players!”
