Despite incredibly tough conditions, playing at altitude (2,600 metres) the ladies managed to come through as the champions beating Turkey and USA in their box and then beating last year's winners and runners up France and Spain.

There was more good news for Devon when the over 40s team, with Jo Louis from Exmouth, took the bronze in the over 40s winning a tight final doubles match 7-6 in the third set.
Jo said they were delighted to win a bronze having just missed out in the last few years.
The World Championships was a great success for Britain coming home with 1 Gold, 2 Silvers and 3 bronze medals, making it the most succesful year to date.
