Bude's Louis Davey, coached by Hannah Miller at the Tarka Tennis Centre in Barnstaple took the prestigious Powder Byrne Trophy title on Sunday 18 December, defeating players who had qualified from all over the country.
After winning through from the round robin boxes, Louis faced Alex Lewis in the final, a very close, tense match which Louis finally won 10-8. As winner, Louis also received some great prizes from sponsors Dunlop. Well done Louis!
The Powder Byrne Trophy is a long established nationwide tournament which for the first time this year introduced mini tennis events. There were 14 regional events and the winners from each travelled to Bisham Abbey to take part in the finals.
