The first day was tough with an early start for the girls and a very late finish. Cornwall was the first match on and after the singles the girls were 2-1 up with Emily Staddon and Bethany Matthews having two good singles wins. Then it came down to the doubles where Polly Bushby and Emily Staddon lost in a match tie-break levelling the rubbers at 2-2. In a very tense deciding tie-break shoot out, the match went Cornwall's way as unfortunately Polly and Emily lost.
The girls also played Somerset on the first day who were a strong team. Bethany was the only player to win their singles despite Emily having a close match so the team went into the doubles 2-1 down this time. Bethany and Emily did well in the doubles losing in a close match tie-break to give Somerset the match. The day finished at 7.30pm despite being there from 9am!
On Sunday the play-off for 5/6th place was agianst The Channel Isles which Devon won comfortably 4-0.
Team Captain, Charlotte Wallace said, "The girls tried really hard and we were unlucky not to got through as the runner up in our box. It was a good experience for Bethany and Polly's debut."
