The ladies Over 50s played Oxfordshire on Sunday July 13th at Torquay. The match was closely fought with a 2 rubber draw. When the result was broken down the ladies lost by 6 sets to 5 and by 39 games to 37. Lorraine Kingsley and Anna Kellagher lost to their first couple by 6-4 6-4. Their second match was lost by 2 sets to 1 although the games total was equal. Sue Roberts and Nikki Rodding won both their matches by 2 sets to 1. What a great shame to lose the match by one set!
However, this was followed by a successful win on the clay courts at the West Hants Club in Bournemouth against Dorset on the 20th July. All rubbers were convincingly won in 2 sets so the result was 4-0. The first couple was Sue Roberts and Lorraine Kingsley and the second couple was Di Horne and Anna Kellagher. Well done team, excellent effort.
