Wheelchair Tennis

Held on Plymouth Hoe, the Plymouth Disability Activity Day showcased the opportunities available for people with disabilities in the County.

The event proved very popular, people swarmed to Plymouth Hoe on a cloudless but very windy day. Mark Blackler, 1st for tennis head coach, took centre court, so to speak,  and entertained the crowds, encouraging new players to join his various tennis groups aimed specifically for people with a wide range of disabilities.

Mark was also joined by some of his current wheelchair players who put on a good display of how to play the game despite the wind making things a little interesting!

Mark said "what a brilliant day, so many people wanted to experience tennis even though the windy conditions made it difficult".
