Our girls team - Victoria Syms (Teignmouth), Jessica Johnson (Exmouth) and debut players Johana Kathi (Exmouth) and Grace Vowles (Tarka) finished 3rd. On day 1 they beat Cornwall 8-0 but just lost to Gloucester 4-5 (7-10 in the tie break). On day 2 they lost in the semi final to eventual winners Avon 0-8 but, facing Gloucester again in the 3rd/4th play-off, they pulled off a great win 6-2 to come 3rd.
Our boys team - Finn Upsher (Exeter), Seb Linnitt (Exeter) and debut players Connor McCann and Nathaniel Cross (Exmouth) finished 4th. Finn, Seb and Connor played on Day 1 beating Cornwall 6-2. Channel Islands were a no show due to flights being cancelled through fog. On Day 2, Nathaniel came in to replace Seb who wasn’t available. The boys lost to Somerset 0-8 in the semis and in the 3rd/4th place play-off faced Cornwall again. At the end of the rubbers all was even but unfortunately, in a tense penalty shoot-out Cornwall just stole it 10-8.
