Devon had the most successful AEGON 18 & Under County Cup weekend for some time when both the boys and girls teams comprehensively won their groups and achieved promotion to Division 3.
Playing at Taunton, the boys team of Jack Findel-Hawkins (captain), Howard Scott, Oskar Wynne, Ben Tyrrell, Rhys Dunford, Marc Sillifant, Pete Underhill and Matt Whittam put on a great display of focussed tennis to defeat Lincolnshire 7-2, Oxfordshire 8-1 and Suffok 5-1
Team Coach Tom Lambert said, “It was a fantastic weekend in which all the boys gave their all and deserved promotion. They prepared the best, worked the hardest and had excellent team spirit. We are looking forward to Division 3 next year!”

In Newport, South Wales, the girls team were up against Oxfordshire, Leicestershire and neighbours Cornwall. The team of Liberty & Isabella Brown, Emma Hurst, Lara Graney, Sarah Collinge, Rachel Williams, Mia Loye and Mae Dartnell, who was making her debut at 18 & Under, played with tenacity to bring home the win..
They defeated Cornwall 6-3, Oxfordshire 7-2 and on the final day defeated promotion rivals Leicestershire 5-2.
Team Coach, Charlotte Wallace said,
"The team atmosphere was at its best this year with the girls cheering loudly for every match which showed their support for the team and this in turn provided them with a great environment for success. They did Devon proud well done girls!! Also a BIG thank you must go to Liberty Brown and Rachel Williams for all their efforts and contributions to county tennis over the years as this was their last U18 county cup, I hope they continue to play for the county in the senior county events."
