We would like to invite all ladies & girls to join us at the second Flybe Girls Tennis Roadshow on Tuesday 10th April, 2pm – 4.30pm at the Heron Tennis Centre in Newquay.
The Roadshow will be led by some of the top female coaches across the two counties, including Lucie Ahl (former GB no.1) and we are also excited to announce that Judy Murray, GB Fed Cup Captain, will also be joining the crew to put you through your paces! There will be opportunity to ask Judy questions so come prepared!
The event is for girls and ladies only with the emphasis on having fun and experiencing the diverse ways of playing tennis. The coaches will put you through your paces at Cardio Tennis – an aerobic tennis work-out, touch tennis, tennis drills and for the young ones Mini Tennis. Equipment is provided but bring your racket if you have one.
Georgina Loosemore, LTA Tennis Development Manager for Devon & Cornwall said, "Our first roadshow in Exeter proved very successful and we hope to reach even more girls of all ages by coming to Cornwall. We are delighted that Judy Murray has been able to join us and support us in our endeavour to increase the number of females in the sport. So we hope girls will come along and we encourage them to bring female friends or relations! It is a free event with lots of prizes to be won!"
To be a part of the big event and to support the future of girls tennis within Cornwall and Devon please contact ann.williams@lta.org.uk to confirm your place.
Devon and Cornwall LTA‘s launched the Flybe Girls Tennis initiative last year with the aim to enable more females to experience the sport and join together with existing players in having fun and keeping fit.
The first Flybe Girls Roadshow was held during the Christmas holidays in Exeter attracting almost 100 players and coaches of all ages and abilities – many of whom had never picked up a racket before.
