8 & Under players from Exwick Tennis Club, Exeter Tennis Centre and the Exmouth Tennis & Leisure Centre came together on Sunday 19th May to play in the Exeter area AEGON Team Tennis (ATT) Competition Devon.
In a very close contest between all 3 three clubs, Exeter finished in 3rd place, Exmouth were runners-up with Exwick coming out as eventual winners.
Following on from the success from Devon’s very first Red ball Festival type event that took place between South Devon Tennis Centre (Ivybridge), David Lloyd (Exeter), Virgin Active Devonshire, we were keen on putting on a show of our own with some of the best players in the region taking part in the competition. Competition referee Steve Ashton said “the level of competition was really high with some really close matches taking place” “It was great to see so many players having such a great time at the competition.
There was even time for a fun game at the end of the event called “Around the world” a very popular tennis game played at centres across the region.
There was some fantastic feedback from parents and children on how well run the event was, we are now looking forward to next year’s competition.
