Tennis World Make It 4 Out Of 6!

Thursday, December 13, 2012

Tennis World duly recaptured the Men's North East Super League crown once again in 2012 winning the league for the fourth time in six seasons.

Charlie Daniels, team captain for the first time, wanted to thank all of his players who participated throughout - Stephen Monk, Jonathan Smuk, Matt Jackman, Dale Fawcett, Marty Hodgkinson, James Lees, Richard Love and James Parish. Charlie said, "We seriously practice as a team all year round and this is the reward for all the hard work."

Super League tournament organiser Mike Dixon added,

"Tennis World have set this high benchmark for this regional league, for which other teams will have to raise their level of performance just to compete. Congratulations to this outstanding group of players."

LTA Tennis Development Manager, Jo Cunliffe, highlighted,

"The North East Super League is a fantastic league for local players to compete in a high level of competition. Charlie Daniels who captained the team was thrilled once again with their success and was really proud of the team who were fully committed to the league. Mike Dixon should be applauded for introducing the league 6 years ago and continuing to help British Tennis grow in the North East. I know speaking to players and teams that they appreciate the opportunities!"

If any teams are interested in entering this competition in 2013, and the club possesses enough strength and depth then please contact Mike Dixon on mdixontennis@btinternet.com.
