Tees Valley All Stars!

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

Tees Valley showed how strong tennis is in the area with a fine display at the recent Tony Blair Sports Foundation Year 3 Schools competition.

All 8 schools had qualified through earlier stages and proved that they were the top schools to be playing for the chance to compete at the prestigious Tony Blair Sports Foundation Tennis Challenge Cup, which is taking place Friday July 6th in Sunderland.

The format included matches and Tennis Factory challenges to ensure that the players were put through their paces with their full range of skills!

Jo and Barbara who ran the Tennis Factory couldn't believe the energy and enthusiasm that every single player displayed,

"Every single player did not give up.  They truly were All Stars today!"

The final results were as follows,

1st - Yarm Primary
2nd - Ingleby Mill 124 points
3rd - Lingfield 103 points
4th - St Bernadettes 101 points
5th - Galley Hill 87 points
6th - West Park 81 points
7th - Bankfields 70 points
8th - Whinfield 44 points

This means that Yarm and Ingleby Mill will be competing for the regional title next week in Sunderland!

Special thanks once again to every behind the scenes, Diane and the Middlesbrough Council team, Barbara Borwell, School Game Organisers, schools along with the supporters of the event, Tennis Foundation, TBSF, LTA and the local schools network!
