40 eager players from 5 of the best County Durham Schools competed in the Tony Blair Sports Foundation Year 3 Tennis Challenge Cup June 12th 2012!

Durham and Cleveland girls travelled to Sheffield for the U10 County Cup at the weekend. 

Sunday 10 June – 6 girls met at Yarm Tennis Club to play a friendly match.

Matthew Hollingworth from Saltburn clinched the same trophy that Andy Murray won in 1997.

The D&C Boys 10U County Cup team had a tough challenge competing in Batley with a group consisting of Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cheshire and Derbyshire.

US Open Junior Champion, Oliver Golding, encourages everyone to enter.

The Championships, Wimbledon is not far away and Junior/Child British Tennis Members are eligible to enter the grounds at a special rate of £5.

Durham University Sports Centre, Stockton has started running Rusty Rackets, made the easy way!

Lucy Farrar carried the Olympic Torch 17 June through Sedgefield, which was a breathtaking experience for the Yarm Tennis Club player, assistant coach and volunteer!

Sam Richardson with four former Conyers School, Yarm, friends set off on 1st July on a 25,000km, life changing year long journey that will take in 25 different countries.

County Durham School Games saw 68 competitors in 2 age categories compete for their respective titles!

Tees Valley showed how strong tennis is in the area with a fine display at the recent Tony Blair Sports Foundation Year 3 Schools competition.
