The David Lloyd Teesside Mini Orange League has epitomised why our youngsters play our wonderful game!
For the last 7 years the leagues have always remained true to their purpose....providing fun, team opportunities for new and developing players across the area. The Teesside based Club was where the Mini Leagues all began in 2006 and league organiser Jo Cunliffe is absolutely delighted with 7 years of fantastic memories and good times for the youngsters!
Jo highlighted,
"I will always feel a strong sense of positivity and achievement with the Mini Winter Leagues. We started them off in 2006 through Dave Boddy and Graeme Clarkson's idea to get a fun event for players new to the game.
This year's Winter Orange League in Teesside really has been incredible. I will not remember who won or lost because that isn't the most important thing when you know the massive impact the league makes in terms of all the youngsters tennis development and important life lessons! Tonight epitomised why these youngsters are playing the game...Harry and Cameron played a titanic match and at the end they shook each others hands and then embraced each other like watching the end of a Djokovic and Murray match! Every single player had a smile on their face from start to finish and they were all having a great time with their mates. I cannot even express how happy we all are with the Mini Leagues and the positive effect they have on everyone involved!"
Next stop is Aegon Team Tennis 2013 and we know it is going to be another great event to keep those smiles on the youngsters faces throughout the summer months and beyond!
