World No. 8 Gordon Reid clinched his fourth North East Wheelchair Tennis Tournament title on Thursday.

Tennis World in Middlesbrough hosted the 21st anniversary of the "Harry Thomas Memorial Tournament" earlier this week with over 60 children from 11 different schools taking part in the popular event.

It was funky beats all the way at Teesside University as they hosted a Cardio For Teachers course this week!

Sunderland Tennis Centre hosted a visually impaired fundraiser on Friday 22nd March. The session aimed to increase the awareness of visually impaired tennis in local area as well as fund further tennis opportunities for people in the North East.

Virgin Active is delighted to say that 2012 has been a successful year for girl’s tennis. At a time when girls tennis is struggling to not only get girls involved but more importantly to keep them involved throughout teenage years, Virgin Active has worked hard to promote girls tennis. Part of this is to offer all girl’s sessions run by Virgin Active Coach Stephanie Eadon and Level 2 Tennis Assistant Amy Hobburn.

The Aegon Clay Court Championships is dubbed the ‘Spring Nationals’ as it is the only other junior Grade 1 competition in the summer season for the 14&U and 12&U age groups.

A Grade 3 open event took place at Virgin Active Wearside over the Easter weekend - the final event in the series of open, adult tournaments Virgin Active have hosted over the winter season.
