Sisters Represent GB

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

We have been putting a lot of stories lately about our junior successes but we wanted to remind you of some of our senior players who have had international success in the recent past.

Gillian Kelliher and Tracy Smith from Northumberland represented Team GB in Senior Tennis and won Bronze in 2006.

Sisters Gillian and Tracy, who are both coaches at The Northumberland Club in Newcastle, have represented Great Britain in a team of four in the over 35 age group in 2006, 2007 and 2008. The ties took place in South Africa and Turkey and on all occasions they played doubles with each other. In 2006 the team took the Bronze medal. They only lost once while they were representing Great Britain which was in a three set thriller against Spain, who went on to win the Gold.

We wish Gillian and Tracy all the success for the future and you never know they might be called up again?!
