These smiles have been like this since October!
David Lloyd Teesside saw the last fixture for the Winter Mini Orange League 2012 / 2013 on Saturday March 16. It has been 6 months of smiles, which is enough to last us a lifetime, which you can see on the picture above. Team work, fun, great spirit, laughs, and friends are some of the words that fully describe the journey since October.
Jo Cunliffe who organises the league at the Stockton based club expressed, “The mini leagues will always bring a huge smile to my face for everything that the youngsters bring to every event. This last 6 months have been particularly memorable because there was not a month that the smiles were beaming from ear to ear on these young players faces. This is exactly what tennis should be about and I am so honoured to be able to see this happen across the region. There are so many exciting journey’s to take in our sport but the most important thing for these young players is to enjoy what they are doing and get the most out of it! I feel really lucky that we have such dedicated coaches and clubs who continue to inspire their players to get involved and help with the organisation of teams. Most importantly these coaches and clubs have never lost the importance of the mini leagues, which is fun!”
The eventual winners were Tennis World after some really close matches on the evening. Next stop is Aegon Team Tennis, which gets under way in April. We want to wish the players best wishes and hope they continue the good times we have witnessed in Teesside over the last 6 months!
