East Glos Club in Cheltenham's Old Bath Road will throw open its doors on Saturday 11th June with an Open Day from 11am to 3pm. Entry is free and the aim of the day is to enable visitors to experience everything the club has to offer.
Visitors to the Open Day will have the chance to test out the facilities and take advantage of special offers. Activities taking place include a fastest serve competition, the chance to find out if you’re a match for East Glos Club’s ball machine, and free tennis coaching from expert instructors from 11am. Visitors can also push themselves by taking part in cardio tennis and test their worth with the virtual form of the game in Wii Tennis. The day will also include free squash clinics, the opportunity to try fast-growing sport racketball and membership offers – with no joining fee.
Club Manager Simon Harmer comments "Because our facilities are not completely visible from the main road, passers by don't always realise what goes on at East Glos. For example we are best known for our tennis facilities but we also offer squash and ladies hockey. There's also a misconception that to join a club like East Glos you have to be an accomplished player and have all the latest gear. At the Open Day we aim to dispel those myths and demonstrate to visitors that the club truly welcomes all ages and abilities".

In addition to the tennis activities we are also offering visitors squash clinics, racketball sessions, gift bags and will be running various competitions. We will also be joined by a caricaturist and children’s book stall, as well as offering free nibbles and having a visit from Cheltenham’s new Mayor, Councillor Barbara Driver!
