During the last week of the Easter holidays, accompanied by Graeme Coulter, Helen Retter and Alan Wright, 19 lower school tennis players travelled to Marbella, Spain, to participate in an intensive 5 day training course, in preparation for this year’s tennis season.
We stayed at a sports resort hotel, just outside Marbella, and had over 3 hours of tennis coaching each day, not including extra LTA ratings matches and organised fixtures against Spanish locals. There was also a range of evening activities, from a mixed doubles games night, to late night shopping in Marbella. We also participated in many tennis tournaments, between everyone on the trip.
Everyone at Atalaya Park was very hospitable, and our teachers did a fantastic job organising various activities throughout the day, including beach football, swimming and mini golf. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time in Spain, and had great fun improving our tennis technique, skills, and match play. A huge thank you to Helen, Graeme and Alan for organising the trip, it was an amazing experience where we developed our tennis playing not only on hard courts, but also on Spanish clay.
