Working in partnership, Virgin Active and the LTA are focused on boosting participation from players of all ages and levels by introducing a comprehensive racquet offering aimed at the entire family.
The new all-inclusive Adult Tennis programme for 2013 includes Cardio Tennis, Tennis Xpress, Shot of the Day and Group Coaching all managed by a new rating system called Tencap, which is exclusive to Virgin Active. Increasing accessibility to the game, all adult group coaching is now included within the membership costs of our 21 Health & Racquet Clubs.
To encourage and nurture talent, Virgin Active ambassadors Laura Robson and Andrew Castle will be providing tennis clinics at our racquet clubs, aimed at developing the next generation of player. Laura will be involved in re-launching Virgin Active’s Junior Tennis Academy later in the year, which will include elements of the LTA’s successful mini-tennis programme.
As part of our partnership, Virgin Active also work closely with the Tennis Foundation in supporting British Wheelchair Tennis. By providing access to our courts, facilities and expertise, we’re helping these players on their journey to Rio 2016 and beyond.
