Hampshire’s Esther Adeshina finished runner up at the Tennis Europe 16U Girls Nike Junior International London event that was held at the National Tennis Centre, Roehampton between 31st March - 4th April.
Esther seeded 4th for the event lost 4-6 3-6 in a tough final match to the top seed Daria Frayman from Russia. On her way to the final, Esther defeated opponents from Italy- Federica Sacco 6-4 6-3 and then fellow Great Britain players Danielle Daley and Erin Richardson in the second round and quarter finals 7-5 6-2 and 7-5 6-1 respectively.
In the semi final, Esther defeated the no. 2 seed Anastasia Tikhonova from Russia 7-5 6-3. Esther still got her hands on a title trophy at the event after winning the doubles event with fellow GB player Gemma Heath from Surrey. The British girls defeated an Italian duo of Federica Rossi and Cristina Elena Tiglea 6-1 6-4 to take the girls doubles titles.
