Winchester's Miles Mcdowall and Southampton's Gabbi Taylor both made it to the latter stages of this weeks AEGON Winter National Tour Finals at the National Tennis Centre in London.
The 14 & Under competition featured some of the hottest talent in Britain and three Hampshire players competed at the event. Natalie Sayer from Fareham, is currently ranked 6th in the AEGON British Tennis Rankings but lost out in the first round to Ceire Mullins 6-2 6-2.
Southampton's Gabbi Taylor, who received a wild card into the event, made it through to the semi-finals of the competition where she lost to eventual winner Anna Brogan 6-2 6-2.
It was Winchester's Miles Mcdowall who shone through in the boys event. Mcdowall, who trains at David Lloyd Southampton and the Winchester Tennis & Squash Club made it to the final of the competition, beating the number one seed before losing in the final to Chris Morrow 6-3 6-4.
More of Hampshire's top players will be out competing next week as the half-term tournaments take place. Thornden Tennis Club will be hosting a junior grade 4 event with over 120 entries, whilst other players will be travelling to Bristol to compete in the grade 3 event.
