Jordan Booker has won the first LTA Volunteer of the Month Award in recognition for his help and support at Alverstoke Tennis Centre.
Jordan, 14, has been volunteering for nearly three years where he is involved in helping on court with the Mini Tennis programme as well as being the Junior Representative on the club committee.
Jordan started volunteering by asking coaches at his club how he can more involved and has progressed to recently attending the Winchester Regional Young Volunteer Forum.
Jordan said: “Eventually I’d like to be involved in the LTA, but I’m not sure what aspect yet. I just love playing tennis and being involved in it so to be able to take it even further would just be brilliant”.
“Every volunteer has a part of their work that they really enjoy and for me it is the feeling of achievement you get seeing kids gradually getting better and progressing. The feeling at the end of it is great.”
