Last week a number of sports came together to host a Premier League 4 Sport event with Pompey in the Community at Mountbatten Leisure Centre. Over 70 young people were involved from 5 different secondary schools in the local area. They came together to try a number of different sports including tennis, boxing, judo, table tennis and badminton.
The aim of the PL4Sport is to help young people involved in sport in their local communities. Premier League clubs act as a hub linked to community sport facilities, which in turn are linked to local secondary schools to create satellite sport centres.
Locally our team are working with Portsmouth and Southampton on developing satellite sessions to get more young people involved in tennis in those areas.
