On Saturday our team along with some help from the Portsmouth apprentices went down to the Great South Run 5km, Junior and Mini event. There were 4,000 attendees that spirits were not going to be dampened not even by the famous Southsea wind or rain!
We had over 250 people picking up a racket and having a go at tennis inside marquees and also outside in the wind and rain, all with smiles on their faces enjoying the activity. Over a ¼ of participants and spectators received a goodie bag promoting tennis in Portsmouth.
Tennis Development Manager, Zoe Bambridge said “The day started out looking like a disaster, however we were so surprised how many families came out to enjoy the event, it shows people just enjoy picking up a racket and having a go, no matter what the conditions”
