Now that the dust has settled it is time to reflect on the Herts Junior Closed Championships, which took place last week at Queenswood. The level of tennis and sportsmanship throughout the week was amazing, especially on Saturday for the various finals.
The 18&U titles were won by Jason Burge and Emily Arbuthnott. A special mention must go to Jason who has now become the frst person to have won this title over 4 successive years, since it was first presented in 1927. Congratulations also to Emily who must be one of the youngest players to have listed the girls title at just 14 years of age.
At the younger end of the scale the 8&U events were on by Catherine Hodge and Zac Drake, the 9&U by Sophia Underwood and Oliver Tarvet and the 10&U by Indianna Spink, who recently won the national title and David Latter.
