On Sunday 8th December Catherine Hodge, who plays at Letchworth Tennis Club went to Hills Road, Cambridge to compete in her second 9 & Under Grade 2 National Tour event of the season. She was in a box with three other girls she had never played before.
Catherine won all three matches, winning the group and progressing through to the quarter finals of the main draw. Her level of play improved in the main draw and she won the next two matches to reach the final. She was excited to get to her second grade 2 final this season and hoped to go one step further this time. In the final she met her friend and rival Matilda Mutavdzic from Oxfordshire. Catherine won a closely fought first set 7-5, and a more comfortable 7-2 in the second set. Catherine was delighted to win her first National Tour Final title!
