Moor Park Lawn Tennis Club was once again the proud hosts of the Oxford vs. Cambridge Varsity match. This is the second year running the universities have chosen to hold their prestigious event at the Hertfordshire based club.
Jarlath Brine, Oxford Director of Tennis, said he hoped it could become a long-term base for the Varsity matches. With the beautifully maintained grass courts at Moor Park Lawn Tennis Club, it would be the ideal place for the varsity to be held each year.
Oxford took the win after a hard fight against Cambridge on the Sunday. Ladies’ Captain, Mallika Sood, and team mate, Amy Partridge, managed to secure a win on the Sunday afternoon even though Partridge was still suffering from a shoulder injury.
Huw Walters, Chairman of Moor Park Lawn Tennis Club, states: “We were thrilled to have these exceptional teams back to our Club. Our Members and visitors alike spent many hours enjoying the extremely high level of tennis that was played throughout the weekend by these young athletes.”
