Last weekend was the culmination of the Hildon 12 Counties Championships that saw a total of 480 players taking part in 720 matches throughout the winter season. The 14U teams headed off to Corby for the final event of the series on Sunday 8th March.
In Division 1, Hertfordshire were fighting to reclaim the title last won in 2012. Yorkshire put up a brave battle at the end but had left it too late to bridge the gap from the younger age groups, so relinquished their title. The battle for 3rd place was close all the way through, with just 1 point splitting the teams at the end, with Leics claiming 3rd place and Cheshire getting 4th.
This event is a team effort in every way and our congratulations go to all the players who have competed and contributed to Hertfordshire’s overall winning of the championship, to the captains who have guided and accompanied the teams and to the parents for their continued and invaluable support.
