The IOMLTA Summer Men's and Women's leagues commence next week and Albany has four men's and two women's teams entered. Fixtures for our club commence with a women's match – Monday: Albany A v Douglas A; Tuesday sees Albany Men's B playing away v Ramsey A; Wednesday is another home match with our women's B team hosting Castletown B and on Thursday Albany men C are at home to Douglas C. Members please note league matches only use two courts so you can still go for social tennis and perhaps stay on and support our teams. Our home matches start at 7pm whilst away matches start at 6.30pm.

Charlotte Clarke has been playing in the UK at 14 & under level, which is quite tough as she is still only 12. Charlotte played in the David Lloyd North of England Tennis Championships 2018 at Easter. In the main draw event, her first match was very intense and lasted an incredible 1 hour 52 minutes! Charlotte lost the first set 6/2, won the second set 7/5 and battled in the Champions tie-break before losing 14 -12. Charlotte then progressed to the consolation draw, winning this in two matches with scores of 4/0 4/1 and 5/4 4/0. Charlotte learned a lot from her first under 14 tournament a few weeks ago at Bolton and used the experience to help improve her performance last weekend. There will be no rest for Charlotte during the school holidays as training will continue throughout. This trip was sponsored by an anonymous donor, for which she and her parents are very grateful.

So that members are fully aware of all events being held during the year, both at the club and IOMLTA events at other clubs, we have produced a folder of events for you. There are copies in the clubroom - please take one.
