Congratulations to all our juniors who played and won trophies in last week's IOMLTA Junior Closed Championships. Almost a clean sweep and thank you to all who entered - it is vital for the improvement of Island tennis that juniors (and seniors) enter competitions. Not only to gain experience but also build the County teams of the future. At the conclusion of play the prizes were presented by Brian Walton, Chairman of the IOMLTA and Ron Sibthorpe, Chairman of Douglas LTC where the event was held. Referee Paul Jarvis was thanked for running the event. There were two other awards made on the day - Most Improved in the last 12 months - Charlotte Clarke. Twelve year old Charlotte has just returned from playing in the sanatorium Ladies inter-County team. Best under 18 player - Katie Harris (ALB) - Katie will be off to the US soon on a tennis scholarship and we all wish her a happy and successful time there. Also Katie was a member of the Ladies team in the Island Games winning team Gold in Gotland.
