To book a place contact ianwatsonpts@manx.net.

The results of Ian’s coaching resulted in our Juniors taking most of the winner or r/up prizes in the recent IOMLTA Junior Closed Championships so well done to everyone i.e Magnus, Darcy, Harry, Abigail, Orry, Greg, Caitlin, Sarah, Roch, Jack, Charlotte, Jayden and Aailish. Also the Most Improved Player Jack Christian and Best U18 Player Charlotte Clarke – congratulations to them both. They work hard on the court during coaching and match play and deserve their awards. Charlotte has a very busy schedule; last week she represented the Isle of Man Senior Ladies in Inter-County at Frinton on Sea and next week she will be competing in the HEAD Wigan Tennis Open 14&U Singles and Doubles. This is a Grade 3 event in preparation for the Road to Wimbledon Finals which start on Sunday 12th August. Both of these trips have been sponsored by Richmond Travel and Escape the Rock, which is greatly appreciated. Roch Mirski is our other Junior who will be playing at Wimbledon, with Jayden Go and Sarah Long also travelling for a day’s coaching. I’m still hoping to find some generous sponsors for these players as playing tennis in the UK is very expensive. If you can help please contact me on albanytennispr@anx.net or ring 861497.

Wednesday was farewell to the 16 children from Belarus who have been having a much needed holiday on the island, organised by The Friends of the Children of Chernobyl. They had a busy itinerary which included tennis coaching and lunch at the club. Thank you to all members who helped on court and the Friday Ladies who provided lunch. Their visit next year is already booked!!).

We now have a recycle bin in the indoor court which is to be used for plastic bottles only. Please use it. It is plastic ONLY so no other rubbish please!
