The IOMLTA Poker Stars Winter Doubles Tennis latest results:
Sean Drewry (18) has recently played in some UK tournaments. His results are quite good considering he was playing against higher standard players. In the U 18's Tipton Grade 3 event he lost his first round match but played in the consolation event winning 3 matches including consolation final. In the Grade 3 U 18's in Liverpool he won his first 3 matches reaching the final where he lost to No 1 seed 6-1 6-4. He also played in the Men's Grade 3 - Liverpool won first 2 matches to make the semi-final, where he lost to the No 1 seed. Sean is one of five Albany members selected for the IOM Island Games tennis team - the others are Laura Feely, Katie Harris and Elena Snidal and Marc Chinn with Elena's sister Hannah travelling as assistant manager as the event is in 2 venues and will be named as an extra player if needed. Elena and Hannah are also members of Castletown TC.

Div 1: Albany A had a good win at Douglas beating Douglas B 5-1.
Stephen Falconer/Craig Swann beat Andy Murray/Garreth Roome 6-4. Laura Feely/Kirsten Hall bt Tania Thomas/Linda Faragher 6-2. Murray/Feely bt Falconer/Thomas 6/3 , Roome/Hall bt Swann/Faragher 6-3,. Roome/Hall bt . Falconer/Thomas 6/4, Murray/Feely bt Falconer/Thomas 6/1. There is still one match to play, away on 25 March v Castletown A.
There are still about 35 "Carpet Tiles" looking for a name on the chart which is in the clubroom. It's £3 a tile and there are two prizes of £15, two prizes £10 and two tubes of tennis balls for the winning tiles. I'm hoping to see this finished in the next couple of weeks. The money raised is to be added to funds already raised to purchase a new carpet for the lounge which does need smartening up as we intend to promote the hire of the club's facilities for meetings, parties, training courses.
