It's only four weeks to the Isle of Man LTA Senior Closed Championships, which is being hosted at Ballaughton and Kensington Road. The events are Men's and Women's Singles plus Men's, Women's and Mixed Doubles. Entries are online OR e-mail iomtennis@manx.net. Entry fees are: Singles £6 per player or Doubles £4 per player. Entry fee payable at 1st match. Closing date for entries is 5pm Thursday 14 June 2018. Players will be informed of the time of their first match by e-mail. Entry forms are also in the clubroom. Junior yellow ball players are encouraged to enter. Please let's see a big response from club members!
The last Red Ball coaching session before TT practice and race weeks will be this Saturday from 12 - 2pm. All coaching will restart when school re-opens. There have been a lot of league matches in the past two /three weeks with our Women's teams having a bit more success than the Men's teams. The Men's D team is struggling to have all the registered players available - so many are off island on business. Please try and support the D team Captain, Yannis Xirotiris. At least the weather is ideal for playing a league match.
I think we have finally settled on the type of ball machine we will purchase, thanks to the sponsorship of Nedbank Private Wealth. When it arrives we hope to arrange an Open Day - come and try it! I feel sure a lot of members and certainly our juniors will want to use it - so watch this space.
