Hinckley achieve Clubmark Accreditation

Friday, November 20, 2009

Hinckley Tennis Club is having a double celebration this week. On Saturday evening they will be having a dinner to celebrate their 50th anniversary and the club has also been awarded LTA clubmark accreditation. The four court club have become the fifteenth in Leicestershire to achieve the accreditation.

Paul Sheard, LTA Tennis Development Manager for Leicestershire and Derbyshire visited Hinckley to present the clubmark plaque and congratulate the club on their efforts.

“It’s been a great effort by Hinckley to achieve clubmark accreditation. Dom Holmes put in a huge amount of hard work pulling together the evidence folder and was ably supported by Andy Powell. The club and its volunteers have done a fantastic job to meet the tennis clubmark criteria and show that they are meeting the quality benchmark set out by Sport England. Hinckley do a really great job providing a range of opportunities for the local tennis community” said Paul.

Tennis Clubmark recognises good practice in tennis clubs in areas including action planning, tennis development programmes, policies and procedures and club management.

Hinckley has been working hard during recent months to put together the Tennis Clubmark folder with evidence of their range of activities and how the club is run.

The club will now turn their attention to the 50th anniversary dinner this weekend and enjoy a well deserved celebration.
